When pondering her auntââ¬â¢s darling, the storyteller thinks about being alluring in American culture. She considers how she will pull in Chinese young men without drawing in every other person. She is even uncertain of whom she wishes to draw in. She finds the torment she feels in attempting to discover somebody to adore in her new culture reflected in her auntââ¬â¢s life.
